Soldier buried at Wellingborough.
Signs of deep sympathy were evident at the funeral of Mr. Walter Luck of the 2nd. Batt. Northamptonshire Regt.. whose sad death, at the age of 26 years, occured at Aldershot on Friday.
Deceased who left home August 5th, 2 days after being married - was taken ill at the
end of the week following with enteric fever. The body was brought from Aldershot on a motor hearse and taken to Doddington-road Cemetery. A Union Jack was spread over the coffin. The Rev. A.J.White (St Mary's) officiated.
Amongst the company at the graveside was Dr. W.C. Pickering. Mr. J. T. Lewis and Mr. A. Stuart Campbell represented the Gas Co. by whom the deceased was employed. Sergt. Barrett was present, and a number of National Reservists, who acted as bearers: Sergi. Durdin, Sergt. G. Delo. Sergt. Taylor. Corpl. Maltby. Ptes. A. E. Smith. C Walding, and A.E.Hollis. The Inscription on the coffin was:--
